Community-focused ISP Lit fibre launches partnership with FC Clacton

Community-focused ISP Lit fibre is entering into a long-term partnership with Clacton FC to revamp their stadium with a range of improvements as the broadband provider demonstrates its commitment to working with the local community.

The project marks Lit fibres’ commitment to this local market, where some areas currently rank in the top 10% of the UK’s underperforming neighbourhoods in terms of average download speeds. As part of the already established partnership, the stadium will receive an extensive TLC package that includes a repaint, stadium-wide repairs and a new kitchen. This will help ensure Clacton FC, which is run as a local charity, can continue its program of providing children’s meals from the venue.

Responding to local communities looking for a more affordable, more advanced solution to internet access, Lit fibre is now offering up to 1 gigabit (Gb) services to residents of Clacton-on-Sea, which will help meet the demand for faster, More reliable and high-performing broadband services, enabling households across the city to save over £300 pa.

According to House of Commons Library data for broadband coverage and speeds compiled in June 2022, several areas in Clacton have average download speeds of 45.6 Mbps or less, placing these areas in the bottom 10% in the UK kingdom power.
