Coming Soon full fibre boost to Wrexham
Netomnia, the UK’s fastest growing wholesale fibre-optic broadband operator, today announced that it is rolling out its full fibre-optic multi-gigabit network in Wrexham and surrounding areas as part of an investment of up to £12m in the region.
Netomnia will provide Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband infrastructure to approximately 40,000 buildings in Wrexham to provide access to its resilient and reliable broadband network and help future-proof and diversify the local economy.
The company is partnering with GForce to build its broadband infrastructure and enable rapid deployment with cutting-edge optical solutions. Netomnia’s latest investment in Wrexham builds on its existing presence in Wales, where the company is already rolling out its ultra-fast broadband network to around 29,000 buildings in Barry and 55,000 buildings in Bridgend.
Wrexham, formerly designated a historic market town, was recently informed that it will be granted town status on September 1, 2022 as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. This makes Wrexham the seventh major city in Wales, demonstrating the area’s growing popularity for businesses, residents and tourists. Today, Wrexham serves as the manufacturing, retail, education and government center for the Welsh Borders.
Together with YouFibre, an internet service provider, Netomnia has secured 418 million in funding since 2020 to support its rollout strategy and will soon begin its first rollout in Northern Ireland to become the first alternative network with an existing network in four countries Great Britain.
Netomnia provides Internet Service Providers (ISPs) with comprehensive connectivity and builds the infrastructure for their broadband services. Its network supports symmetric (same upload and download speeds) multi-gigabit services up to 10 Gbps (10,000 Mbps) using XGS-PON technology; This means that ISPs using Netomnia’s network can offer their customers reliable ultra-fast speeds for decades to come.
