Coatbridge to get Ultra-Fast Broadband boost
Netomnia, the UK’s fastest growing wholesale fiber broadband operator, announced its all-glass multi-gigabit network in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, as part of an Investment of up to 26 million in the region. Netomnia will provide Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband infrastructure to approximately 87,500 buildings in Coatbridge and the surrounding area.
This expansion marks Netomnia’s fifth rollout site in Scotland, providing access to its robust and reliable broadband network and helping to future-proof and diversify the local economy. The addition of an ultra-fast and reliable network will support Coatbridge’s ongoing renewal as the city continues to develop and build on its deep industrial heritage.
Netomnia’s full fiber optic network will benefit the local economy and community and support the growth of prosperity in the region for years to come. Together with YouFibre, an internet service provider, Netomnia has secured 418 million in funding since 2020 to support its rollout strategy and goals to reach 1 million sites in 2023.
Netomnia provides Internet Service Providers (ISPs) with comprehensive connectivity and builds the infrastructure for their broadband services. Its network supports symmetric (same upload and download speeds) multi-gigabit services up to 10 Gbps (10,000 Mbps) using XGS-PON technology; This means that ISPs using Netomnia’s network can offer their customers reliable ultra-fast speeds for decades to come.
