Brentwood Customer Gets 13x Faster Broadband With BeFibre
BeFibre ISP connected the first of 14,000 Brentwood residents to FTTP (fiber-to-the-premises) broadband, which was built and delivered to deliver 13x faster broadband speeds, covering 80 UK cities and 1,000,000 properties by 2027. The nationwide rollout was made possible by access to at least $100 million in private funding.
Many residents will have Internet speeds that will allow them to upload 100 Instagram photos in 5 seconds, or download a 1-hour TV program in 7 seconds, 500 Spotify songs in 25 seconds, and an entire newly released PS5 game in just 14 minutes!
The very first customer to connect to full fiber broadband in Brentwood is Tania Burton.
Tania Burton said, ‘The service kept dropping out and was so slow and clunky which was an absolute mess when trying to work from home, especially during the pandemic. I saw members of the BeFibre team working on my street and they were so genuine and friendly when I spoke to them. I immediately signed up for a free trial because I liked their approach and honesty. Switching was easy too, and I had no idea I was the first connected customer in the area, which was a nice surprise!
As an executive assistant for an artificial intelligence company, Tania added: I can’t fault BeFibres’ broadband upload and download speeds, everything has been spotless. I can get my work done without worrying about something crashing and my family has everything they need without being disconnected.
By working with Digital Infrastructure to provide FTTP connectivity using OpenReach’s Physical Infrastructure Access (PIA), BeFibres project is less disruptive than other network deployments where engineers use existing channels so they don’t dig up roads. With more Brentwood residents being connected as part of a phased program for 2022, several additional towns across the UK have also been made operational, including the neighbouring areas of Clacton on Sea, Pilgrims Hatch and Ingatestone.
