Full Fibre Broadband comes to Hibaldstow
From Wheat Lane to the Wheatsheaf Pub, fibre optic broadband has arrived in Hibaldstow. It may seem like Quickline is only adding huge chunks of FTTP when it’s launched, but small areas are being added to its database every day. One of the smaller areas this week is Hibaldstow, although small is relative as Quickline has also added many individual postcode areas from different providers.
The Quickline service in this case appears to be in an area with relatively good broadband speeds as there are three Openreach VDSL2 booths in the village and also some FTTP. Quickline hopes that it will become more widespread. Quickline’s Full Fibre in the Village estimates speeds of 17Mbps in this case compared to Openreach who suggest around 20-30Mbps might be possible – Quickline estimates tend towards the low end of what people should expect , which was a conscious choice for VDSL2 model. Quickline added the area on September 14, but the work of discovering all the other changes from the 70+ FTTP networks that Quickline was tracking kept it on its toes.
