Hyperoptic launches ‘Switch Now’ campaign that offers 9 months free full fibre broadband
Hyperoptic is giving a lifeline to homes that depend on slow broadband and face a massive price hike next spring. Hyperoptics ‘Switch Now’ campaign offers up to nine months of free broadband, so people can cancel their current contract and save more than £160 on their slow and poor-quality internet, with a price hike looming in 2023.
Hyperoptics research found that more than a third of people who are unlikely to switch are deterred from switching because of the cost of terminating their current contact. And a quarter fear losing broadband during the transition. Hyperoptic will solve these challenges by providing up to nine months of free broadband to contracted households. And it runs at the same time as a household’s electricity provider, guaranteeing no loss of service when switching.
Switchers can also save money by paying their current provider an early termination fee instead of continuing their contract, while still getting free broadband from Hyperoptics price increases next spring that will exceed 20 percent based on inflation forecasts.
Hyperoptic promises not to raise prices mid-contract like most major players do. Many broadband giants increase rates by inflation plus 3.9 percent each year, and customers are having to cancel despite the increase. Hyperoptics research found that 60% of people didn’t know they were going to face a price increase mid-contract.
Hyperoptics’ full fibre optic network enables consumers and businesses to enjoy Gigabit-capable broadband at average speeds of up to 900Mbps, which is more than 18 times faster than the average UK packet speed. Hyperoptics Social Plans provide essential broadband connectivity for those facing mounting cost of living pressures. Hyperoptics Gigabit fibre broadband is available at 64 locations across the UK.
