Ultrafast Full Fibre Broadband comes to Rural areas of Fivemiletown
Over 1500 homes and businesses in rural Fivemiletown and surrounding rural areas are now connectable to gigabit-capable Next Generation (NGA) broadband services. Over 1,500 homes and businesses in the rural parts of Fivemiletown and surrounding rural areas are now connectable to Gigabit-enabled Next Generation (NGA) broadband services. The new broadband infrastructure was rolled out by Fibrus Networks Ltd, Northern Ireland’s fastest growing telecoms provider, specializing in fiber optic broadband solutions for rural and regional communities.
Fibrus began work in the rural parts of Fivemiletown in March this year and set about to transform the broadband infrastructure here, having already completed extensive work at over 120,000 sites across Northern Ireland. People living and working in the rural parts of Fivemiletown and the surrounding rural areas can now access hyper-fast, all-glass broadband. Fibrus Brand and Marketing Manager Joe Diver explained what this means for the people who live and work in the area: Fibrus was founded to improve the lives of people in rural areas around Fivemiletown.
For too long rural areas across Northern Ireland have been without decent connectivity services despite being a hub for local businesses and start-ups. He explained that the need for meaningful online connection has been accelerated by the pandemic and continues to be an important part of everyday life, especially for people living in the digital darkness of their favorite shows on Netflix. Access to reliable broadband has become like any other utility for modern homes and businesses, it is as important as electricity and heating.
