BT’s new product : ‘Hybrid Speed Boost’
The launch of BT’s new product is the first commitment to combine fixed line and 4G speeds to accelerate slower broadband connections on copper lines. The Hybrid Speed Boost product provides businesses with average download speeds of 20Mbps, which is more than double the average download speed for copper broadband connections.
Hybrid Speed Boost is included at no additional cost to new BT Business broadband customers, as well as existing customers when they extend their plan, bringing speeds to small businesses that may struggle with slower copper lines.
BT’s Hybrid Speed Boost product is the first in the UK to combine a copper broadband line with EE’s leading-edge 4G network to provide an automatic boost in speed by interconnecting connections from broadband and mobile networks. Businesses can benefit from an average download speed increase of 20 Mbps – more than double the average download speed for copper broadband connections. The average upload speed can be increased to 10Mbps, which is 10 times the average upload speed for copper lines. Hybrid Speed Boost is included at no additional cost for new BT Business broadband customers subscribing to ADSL broadband plans.
Existing customers can also benefit if they renew their plan. BT’s Enterprise Business is launching the new product as an interim solution for small businesses in those parts of the country that have yet to upgrade to fiber broadband, while BT Group continues to roll out its full fiber network across the country.
Fast, reliable broadband is critical to smooth everyday life Today we’ve taken action to increase speeds for businesses using copper broadband at no additional cost. Hybrid Speed Boost could revolutionise the operations of small businesses that currently may be struggling with the bandwidth required to process large files, access cloud services or use HD video.
